Swallow study

Wednesday brought Drew's fourth swallow study and he did awesome. Although he passed his last study a year ago it was quite limited as far as his participation and he has had aspiration pneumonia since then so we opted for one more. He did a wonderful job following directions and drinking/eating everything they asked him to this time! Thin liquids showed some penetration and pooling of the liquid but no aspiration!!! Purees and crunchy foods he looked perfect on =) We'll continue to practice thin liquids unless he gets pneumonia. Hopefully with practice and time his coordination will improve and the pooling with liquids will resolve. Once again we can't possibly be more thankful for all the wonderful blessings God has given us and how wonderful Drew has done!
